We’re looking for women writers with a fresh vision. We want to be surprised, seduced, hypnotized, transported, or transformed by your words. Think surrealism, noir, feminist erotica, speculative texts, dream diaries—explorations that transcend genre.

LENGTH: 500 – 10,000 words
RIGHTS: First Rights
REPORTING TIME: Two weeks
PAYMENT: A copy of the paperback
DEADLINE: October 15th, 2017

Nonsense Rules!

MORE NONSENSE

One of the most popular issues of BLACK SCAT REVIEW was the special “Utter Nonsense” double issue (#9/10).  Readers will be happy to hear that we’ve decided to publish a sequel next year — “More Utter Nonsense”  — deadline to be announced. The lovely cover was done by a talented young Italian artist, Giada Cattaneo.

We think “More Utter Nonsense” is especially fitting since 2016 is an election year. Stay tuned for more details.

If you’ve missed any back issues of BSR. copies are available here.

Good Luck!

Are you superstitious? If so, this may be your lucky day. We’re accepting manuscripts for BLACK SCAT REVIEW‘s thirteenth issue, theme: “Superstition.”  Deadline: Sept. 30th, 2015.

Issue #13 may, in fact, precede #12 (“Roussel’s Revenge”). That’s just the way we roll around here. Meanwhile, we’re still looking for texts in the spirit of Raymond Roussel.

Manuscripts should be sent to: black scat (at) outlook (dot) com

We strongly advise that you read an issue before submitting.
